After being moved to September in 2021 because to the pandemic, the Met Gala returned to New York on Monday night, in its traditional first Monday in May schedule. Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda co-chaired the Met Gala, with honorary co-chairs Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, and Adam Mosseri of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. This year’s dress code requested white-tie ‘gilded splendour’ outfits inspired by New York’s Gilded Age, which lasted from 1870 to 1890. “Dust off Edith Wharton’s ‘Age of Innocence’ and ‘The House of Mirth,'” says Vogue.
